Old Creation Covenant: New Creation Covenant

We are all familiar with the 7 days of Creation in Genesis. This makes the number 7 quite important in our lives and in the Bible. We will also see other important numbers such as 3, 4, 12 and others. It doesn't seem a mere coincidence that 3 + 4 = 7 and 3 x 4 = 12.

Anyway, I've mentioned Daniel's prophecy about the 70 weeks, which is ten 7's, and each week represents 7 years. The last week or 70th week is associated with Jesus the Prince making and confirming a New Covenant for that 1 week. The confirming signs and wonders were performed by Jesus for 3+ years during His ministry, and continued by His apostles and disciples for a similar period of time in the book of Acts.

Perhaps this 7 year period of New Covenant confirmation coincides with the 7 day old covenant creation in Genesis. Can we match up some of the miracle events of each day of Genesis with the 7 year miracle events in the New Covenant? This is an invitation to look for these connections.

The Genesis account of the Old creation begins with; "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."

John's gospel account of the New begins with: "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God..."

Comparing these accounts we see other similarities.

Well, anyway, this is sort of a footnote subject for our study in the book of Acts.
