The Modern Social Gospel Fallacy and Danger

In Acts 2 and 4 are some passages used by social gospel advocates to promote socialism or its various forms. These passages speak of how the disciples of Christ sold their possessions and held all things in common so that no one had any need. This is not socialism or communism or fascism or anything like that. These actions of the apostles and disciples of Jesus were completely voluntary, of their own free choice, and did not involve coercion of any sort.

The modern social gospel is a very dangerous philosophy, worldview, or belief system. It is absolutely contrary to God's word because it primarily involves theft, theft by violence. It also involves covetousness, discontent, discord, envy, elitism, and many other iniquities.

Here is a link to some questions directed at an advocate of this fallacious and dangerous social gospel. These questions provide a pretty good understanding of why the social gospel is unBiblical, dangerous, and sinful.

It must be understood that the accounts in Acts 2 and 4 are not advocating socialism, the welfare state, or anything of the sort.
