Biblical Exodus Themes

We can find the exodus theme repeated throughout God's word. Similar to God's people enslaved and oppressed in Egypt, so were we far far worse enslaved and oppressed in the bondage of our sin, trapped by our own iniquitous nature, alienated and at enmity with our Creator.

Just as Moses did many signs and wonders in Egypt, risking his own life, in order to effect the release of His people, so similarly Jesus Christ through many signs and wonders, and His own suffering and death, delivers His people from their sins and the consequences of same. He paid the penalty, even though completely innocent and perfect. And every time we see someone somehow miraculously released from bondage, which we see many times in Acts, it is following the exodus theme. Look for it, again and again.
