Which is it; have you accepted Christ or has Christ accepted you?
One modern evangelical method of presenting the gospel to someone is to ask if they have accepted Christ as their personal Savior. This seems to place sovereignty on the individual as determiner of salvation.
However, in truth, it is the other way around. Jesus Christ is absolutely sovereign and no man can come to Him unless it has been granted by God the Father (see John 6). Our question to the man on the street should be, "Has Jesus Christ accepted you?"
Who will most suffer rejection; the Christ of God or the individual who was not accepted by Him?
"But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him."
